My FIRST Mixed Media Altered Canvas - RELEASING THE INNER ARTIST made with resin faces, moss a little Tim Holtz, and a little Prima

I finished my very first altered canvas and now I have a new addiction. If you haven't tried it before DO IT! Stretched canvas is available at most art supply stores and are very inexpensive at Walmart.  I bought 2 of these 8"x10" ones for less than $5. Add a zipper, some texture paste, hot glue, dried weeds, a little Tim Holtz, a little Prima and yep ... I like it!!!

Here's some close up pics for more detail - I had lost my crafting MOJO and this project helped bring the artist out again ... sooo ... I'm just going to call it "RELEASING THE INNER ARTIST"  -- get it? like the different faces of the artist are BUSTING at the seams to get out ... Is that too corny?
I molded the basic faces from resin in a mold purchased from EBAY the "nose" in the mid area and "forehead" at the top are Prima embellishments titled ARCHIVAL CAST VISAGE by Sandra Evertson - I highly HIGHLY recommend the set, there are several faces in the package for around $6-$7. Gears and clock hands are from Tim Holtz and some from my stash.  The clay piece (brown/black in the bottom right corner) was made using Lisa Pavelka's texture plates.  Dylusions Sprays, Tim Holtz Color Wash Sprays and acrylic paints color the background.

The dried pieces of foliage I found next to an old fence here in Blackfoot, Idaho.  I sprayed them with clear acrylic sealer to reinforce them.  The clock was an embellishment from a swap I received that "shhhhh" got broke off by my kitty a few years ago :( ... but hey !!! I put it to great use! (I believe it's from Jolee's Boutique - Parcel Vintage Pocket Watch embellishment package)

The background textures are from using Tim Holtz (Ranger) Texture Paste with two of his stencils (Gothic and Harlequinn) and the script stencil "Art is" by Jaime Echt.  The zipper was from my stash and the string shapes around the zippers edge are a mix of texture paste and hot glue pulled.  The moss is dyed Reindeer Moss by Ashland and Moss Collection (both from JoAnns).  ART metal embellishment by Prima Finnabair  titled "Mchanicals".
