Revamped ( Upcycled ) Solid Wood Box into Stag Celtic Altar - style Box ( Pagan Wiccan or for Stag adorers )

I found a fantastic strong wood box that was scraped up and had a horrific paint job, the hinges were rusty - I had no choice, I had to save it.  I still need to add a protective coat over the paint (but I'm thinking I might do some distressing first) Here's a sneak peak.

Still needs a little sanding and the interior is currently just black gesso -- I'm considering doing more on the inside.
